Sangeeta Phogat is a free style wrestler, born on March 05, 1998, in wrestler family, in the Balali Village, Bhiwani, Haryana, India. She did her early education at a local school and did her secondary education at a private school. She compete in the free style wrestler category, and represented India in the numerous national and international wrestling competitions. As she born in the famous wrestling family, she started learning wrestling, since school life, from her Father and elder sisters. Thereby, she participated in the numerous national and international wrestling competitions to represent India and won medals. Recently, she won a bronze medal in July 15, 2023, in the non-Olympic 59 kg category that featured six grapplers at the Hungry Ranking Series tournament .

They got married on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in a quiet ceremony Balali Village, Haryana. Bajrang Punia announced own wedding on instagram post :-

Sangeeta began with a crushing defeat by fall but bounced back with a win in her second bout. She lost her semi-final but won the bronze play-off 6-2 against young Hungarian Viktoria Borsos, the U-20 world championship silver medalist. Sangeeta who won the National Championship in the 62 kg in 2022, began with a defeat by fall against American Jennifer Page Rogers.
